Boost your Spanish skills whilst enjoying the magic of Tenerife island
Explore the “travel and learn” concept and boost your Spanish language skills whilst enjoying the magic of Tenerife. A refreshing learning experience where you are immersed in the Spanish language, culture and nature while you relax and have fun.
Engage with Sara, a professional Spanish teacher, for a programme that includes active learning, leisure activities and joyful experiences in local settings.
You will spend your week with Sara as your teacher and host. She is with you the whole way. To support and guide you through the Spanish language immersion and to ensure you have an unforgettable week.
This experience combines structured Spanish lessons with continuous, real-life practice throughout the day. Spanish is not only something you study in the classroom, but a language you use naturally while living, moving, and sharing daily activities on the island.
Each day includes focused Spanish sessions adapted to the group’s level and needs. These sessions prepare you for the day ahead and help you feel confident using Spanish in real situations. Time is also set aside to review, ask questions, and reflect on what you’ve experienced and learned.
Beyond the lessons, Spanish becomes part of everyday life: planning the day together, shopping at local markets, cooking, ordering food, walking, relaxing, and interacting with local people. This ongoing exposure allows learning to happen organically, without pressure, and at a rhythm that feels natural and supportive.
This is an excellent way of learning more Spanish and talking and listening more than you would in many months of classes!

The programme takes place in the north of Tenerife, in an area outside of the busy tourist routes where the local culture thrives. There are many outings scheduled in which you not only keep practicing Spanish but also discover how Canarians enjoy life. Let yourself be delighted by their hospitality and friendliness, they are always willing to chat and share their knowledge about Tenerife.
As an official Canary Islands guide and local resident, I design and lead the outings so that you not only explore the local area, but also understand its history, traditions and way of life.
What are the outings about? Exploring historic towns and learning about the Guanches (the island’s ancient inhabitants); shopping at local farmer’s markets and receiving advice directly from producers; walking through protected natural areas by the coast or in the countryside; discovering small, independent shops and taking the opportunity to chat with local people along the way.
These shared moments also create natural opportunities for informal Spanish conversations.
What we learn with pleasure we never forget — Writer Alfred Mercier
The experience takes place in a calm, natural setting in the north of Tenerife, between the ocean and the mountains. Away from mass tourism, the rhythm slows down, creating space to rest, enjoy, and reconnect — with the language, the place, and yourself.
You will stay at Hotel Rural Casablanca, a restored 18th-century Canarian house located in a quiet, non-touristic area. Surrounded by nature, it offers a comfortable and peaceful base for the week, with outdoor spaces and a heated pool to unwind after the day’s activities.
The programme is designed with balance in mind: focused Spanish learning, generous breaks, time outdoors and moments of calm. Learning happens in a relaxed and engaging way, allowing motivation and confidence to grow naturally.
Would you like to go a step further and practice yoga while learning Spanish?
You can do this during your stay. Sara is an experienced qualified yoga teacher. Simply let her know if you’re interested in including yoga lessons as part of the programme.
Welcome to Tenerife! – Today is dedicated to arriving comfortably and getting to know your surroundings at your own pace. Take time to settle in, rest after the journey, and enjoy the atmosphere of your new base — the experience begins softly.
¡Buenos días! – Start the day with a delicious breakfast, enjoying the beautiful views before joining your teacher for a Spanish class. You’ll first receive a simple introduction to the week ahead. This is also a moment to talk about your learning needs and goals, so the experience can follow your rhythm and interests. We’ll then continue with a bit more Spanish practice, followed by a relaxed walk around the surroundings to help you ease into the island’s atmosphere.
Today brings together language, movement, and the rhythm of the island. During the morning, we’ll explore Spanish connected to the body and gentle movement, weaving it naturally into your practice. Later, we’ll take a leisurely coastal walk through banana plantations towards the Charco del Viento. This beautiful natural setting — volcanic pools, ocean breeze, and quiet landscapes — becomes the perfect place for a calming yoga session by the sea, integrating what you’ve learned in a peaceful, immersive way.
A day in my Canarian village: Icod el Alto and its potato legacy.
Start your day with a focused Spanish lesson, exploring language connected to local farming, nature, and everyday life in the village. Since you’re already based in Icod el Alto, today invites you to experience this place through a more personal lens. I’ll welcome you into my family’s traditional Canarian home, where you’ll see the land we cultivate and learn how local families have preserved 29 protected varieties of Canary potatoes for generations — a small but meaningful piece of our agricultural heritage.
We’ll take a gentle walk along one of my favourite village paths, passing through landscapes shaped by farming terraces and leading to a small cloud-forest area that remains hidden to most visitors.
Taste, Nature, and tranquillity in Las Aguas: a coastal walk
After a nourishing breakfast, your teacher will meet you at your accommodation for a tailored Spanish lesson. For lunch, we’ll head to a local restaurant by the sea, where you can savour authentic local dishes while learning about Canarian gastronomy.
In the afternoon, we’ll explore the tranquil coastal walk of Las Aguas, strolling along scenic paths where the beauty of nature and Canarian architecture blend harmoniously.
Finally, we’ll return to your accommodation for a calming yoga session, perfect for unwinding and reflecting on the day.
A day at the local market
Is it Saturday or Sunday today? Let’s start with a visit to a vibrant farmer’s market, where fresh local produce, flowers, cheeses, and cakes await. Let’s shop, practice Spanish, and engage with the friendly locals!
Afterward, we’ll take a moment to relax like a local, enjoying fresh fruit juice on the market terrace. Feeling hungry? Let’s indulge in some delicious picoteo. With thirst quenched, we’ll head home to continue enhancing our Spanish skills before a soothing yoga class. Time for questions, answers, and reflecting on what we’ve learned so far.
Tailored to your preferences
Your final full day begins with a morning Spanish class, where we’ll review what you’ve learned or dive into new topics that interest you.
In the afternoon, the day is yours to shape. You can enjoy a relaxing day of shopping in Puerto de la Cruz, take a leisurely walk around the house’s surroundings, or visit La Orotava. Alternatively, unwind with a peaceful yoga and meditation session.
Whether revisiting a favourite spot or embracing a restful day, we’ll make this day a perfect end to your week.
¡Hasta la próxima! We hope you loved your time during the course. You’ll now feel much more confident with your Spanish.
We can help with arranging your trip back to the airport and of course discuss your next Tenerife adventure!
